A physician interest me the most beacuse you are able to help people, and serve them, hands on. You can serve in a hospital, or do missionary work by having certain skills for this career. Although it was not listed, but is simialr, I really desire to be a nurse, which is what I would have said in a previous blog post.

The survey said that the careers in the helping feild would be most suited for me. Helpers are expert communicators and work well in groups with all kinds of people. I think a career like this would be very fulfilling. Of the careers listed, a career in biomedical engineering or physical therapy appeal to me. These both give you oppurtunities to interact with others and work in medical groups.

Like Lauren, I too am planning on becoming a nurse, and in my opinion this is the closest group to that type of job. The career that would interest me the most from the list would either be a physician or a physical therapist. Before I decided on nursing I wanted to be a physician, but I decided that the patient interaction you get with nursing was more appealing then that you would get as a physician.

Out of the medical careers listed, I am most interested in "physician." This does match what I have said in previous blog. I am definitely interested in being in charge in my future profession, but I also like working with all kinds of people. I enjoy teaching others how to do specific tasks, and being able to see the direct effects I have on people that I help. However, I did not find many of the other careers listed as interesting as the "physician." I would love to work in a helathcare team, and look forward to my future in medicine. The personality type for artists came in second according to my number values for the inventory. In that category, I believe I would most enjoy being a plastic surgeon; specifically a reconstructive plastic surgeon.

I agree, that for me a carrer in being a helper would be a really good fit. I am someone, who desires to help people and work in groups, and interact with others. A biomedical engineering or a physical therapist both sounds like really cool careers to do. I haven’t really thought about either of those carrers before. What interest you about those carrers?

Of the careers listed, the ones that interest me most would be physical therapist, athletic trainer and nutritionist. This does match what i have said in other blog post, aside from nutritionist.

Being an athletic trainer really interests me. I like that you don't have to stick to a particular sport, so you can work with different teams and be involved at various levels. I have always thought it would be cool to travel with a professional rugby team in Australia and travel with them as a trainer. I have said before that I would like to be an orthopedic surgeon, but really as long as I get to work with athletes I'll be satisfied.

I definitely feel that I fit the "helper" personality type the most out of all the rest. I feel like I have always been a helpful person and I'm always wanting to help others before myself. I would be most interested in being a Physician, Medical Assistant (Physician Assistant), or an Athletic Trainer. Luckily for me, my own personal career choice (Physician) was in the list of opportunities. I definitely think a career in the medical field fits me most because most careers in the medical field are "helper" jobs which I feel I would excel in.

According to the inventory quiz, I am a helper. Some of the listed career choices that interest me are a physical therapist, a nutritionist, an athletic trainer, and a psychiatrist. All of these career choices are similar to each other in the fact that the people who work in the field feel passionate about helping others, and are successful communicators. I would say that I am definitely a helper, and I am hoping to become a nurse, but the career is listed under a doer. I think that in any career, multiple interests will make you a well-rounded candidate. Certainly, specific qualities pertain to unique careers, but I also think that you can be successful at your job if you have a different personality type than the ones suggested.

I agree with what others have said in that working in a medical group, and with all kinds of people really appeals to me. Like others have also said frequent patient interaction appeals ot me a lot, howeverI don't see myself in a nursing career, this is why physical therapy interests me.

After completing the personality type blog, I was placed as a helper. As a helper I can work well and be kind to others, and am interested in teaching people new things. The top three career choices that fit my personality type are an athletic trainer, medical assistant and home and health aid. In the future I would like to help people, but also teach them how to help themselves. As a medical assistant I would get the opportunity to talk and connect to the patients and also help with their medical process. People of a variety of ages are listed under home and health aid, and in this position I would be able to work with many people and teach them how to work through their struggles.

Of all the careers, the two that intrest me the most are Atheltic trainer, or physical therapist. I love helping people, especially with sports related injuries, because I have had many injuries from sports myself. Also both these careers allow me to interact with people on a daily basis.

Lauren.... Being a physical therapist would be a rewarding job. I personally have gone to physical therapists before, and I have also been privileged enough to see how physical therapy can benefit a patient at Craig Hospital. Physical therapy is an occupation where you can see the direct results your care has on a patient. Also the whole goal of a physical therapist is to improve the quality of life for their patients. At Craig Hospital I've seen how paralyzed or rigger patients can improve with different types of stimulation provided to them by their physical therapists, and it is really amazing.

Of the choices listed I would most want to be a physician. I would like to do this because I think being a physician would be really interesting and you would be able to help out with surgeons. Also you would be helpling people get better whenever they are ill or they have a disease. A phtsician would see a wide variety of patients just for people seeking healthcare. Being someones family physician, you would be able to meet people and form bonds with them so that whenever they need help they can come to you to get treated and I think that is really interesting.

Of the choices given in the helper section of the inventory, I would choose physical therapist or athletic trainer. These careers assist others while helping yourself, too, which is a win-win situation! I would and do enjoy helping out others because there will always be a personal emotional benefit for me.

I’ve recently been seriously considering a career as a psychiatrist or a social worker because I love feeling like I can make a difference in other people’s lives, even if it is not much. I like these two careers the most because you can really build a powerful relationship with your patient and see their progression through time. I am also planning on being a nurse and I agree that this category is closely related to that.

I would agree with Alison. I would like to work with all kinds of people and in groups. That sounds more appealing to me rather than working alone and in a secluded area of an office. I would rather be able to intreact with others including the patients that need attention. Also like Alison, i dont see myself in a nursing career, and physical therapy interests me most out of all the options.

Like others I feel comfortable working with people and would like to try to help others with the best ability I have.

Out of the choices listed for the helper category, Nutrionist is something that interests me the most. This choice would make sense for me, because I am always known to help other people eat healty and motivate my friends to stay fit. Knowing that I am helping someone get healthier and potentially live longer is something I think I would really enjoy doing. It is important for people to know how important it is to stay fit, and I believe being a nutrionist would be a big help to those who have a hard time with knowing what to do when it comes to their health and their weight.

I think being a physician would be my preferential career choice, because not only do you get to help people face to face, but you're also able to diagnose and deduce ailments of patients. I guess the careers listed in the 'Helper' section that interest me the most would be opthalmologist and physician.

What do you guys think would be the second best quality to have in pursuing your career choice? For example, I would like to be a nurse, so having the personality traits of a doer would enable me to be successful.

Along with everyone else, working with all kinds of people is something I can see myself doing.. I am definetly a people person so being placed as a "helper" would really fit me well.

Out of the choices that are listed for helper, the field that I am the most interested in would be a tie between a veterinarian and an athletic trainer. I would really like to be a veterinarian because I love being around animals and I connect with them quickly. I think working in animal rescue and shelters would provide a lot of benefits. I would also really like to be an athletic trainer because you get to help athletes in their accomplishments. I really like hands-on jobs because I think I would be better working closer with the individual.

I think that being a plastic surgeon would be a really rewarding job. I think I would find very fulfilling to work in a burn unit or do the cleft lip surgeries oversees for the impoverished. This does match previous blogs but is just more detailed. Before this class I had not really known much about plastic surgery.

I think being a doer would compliment a career in nursing very well because as a nurse you have a huge amount on interaction with patients. Another quality I think that would be nice would be Artist, sometimes in nursing situations you need to be creative, and having a "right-sided" brain would help. Being an Artist personality type would also be beneficial if you were to purse a nursing career in peds (which I am).

I agree with majority of the people about being a helper gives you the oppurtunity to help others and interact with people, which is very rewarding!

Anonymous said...

I agree with Kayla that many of the fields in this category involve helping people hands on. Although I was more of a doer than helper many of the career choices overlapped. I also enjoy helping people and interacting with them along with being hands on.

After taking the survey I was also described as a helper. I believe this is a perfect secion for me because that is what I want to do, help people. I have said previously that I would like to be a nurse and I still stand by that statement. On the list I could see myself being a physician or a medical assistant. I was also thinking that a home aid would also be interesting but Im not so sure how I feel about that daily routine. I would really like to work with kids. I would agree with everyone in the idea of working in a group to help others would be fulfilling and perfect for me.

The survey said that I was a helper. I work well with groups and would work well on a healthcare team. I would agree with what I scored on the survey and with the fields that it provides such as: athletic trainer, nutritionist, optometrist, physical therapist, physician and veterinarian. These are all occupations I am interested in as well as one that isn't on the list; occupational therapist. I want to grow up and go to college and graduate school knowing that I want to graduate and go on to help people and help them recover and better themselves from an injury or mental disorder. I want to help people overcome obstacles and challenges because there is no greater feeling to me than seeing a person smile a "genuine" smile after I or others have helped them out.
