Of the careers listed, Nurse interests me the most. I have already been interested in a nursing career, and have applied to nursing school. This does match what I have said in previous blogs!

As a doer, the career that interests me the most on the document is either a physician or a surgeon. I do enjoy hands-on things, and I wouldn't be bored with office work. This does match what I have said in previous blog posts because I have aspirations now of being a physician and assisting people during their most critical moments.

Of all the careers listed the one that interests me most is the surgeon. This interests me most because it seems like one of the most hands on professions you could do. It is a big responsibility but it has a big payoff. I like the idea of an interactive job that always has something new to do. I would like that because I would always be challenging myself and I would get to save people’s lives.

Of the careers listed, biomedical engineer interests me the most, because it's who I am and I've been seriously considering studying Biomed in college. It matches exactly what I have said in past blogs about working with computers and designing equipment.

The career that interested me most within the list was either a physician or a biomedical engineer. This interests me the most because a physician is on the front lines of patient interaction in medicine and biomedical engineers are among those in the front lines of medical technology. I have noted this in previous blogs...

After doing the survey, I learned that I am a Doer. I found that the subject that I am looking to study is in this category. My top choice is physical therapist or Athletic trainer. In all of the past blogs I have stated that this is what I have wanted to do because of various reasons. The main reasons I want to do this is because I love sports and want to be around them as much as possible. Also I have had many injuries in my past which I have needed Physical Therapy for.

Seeing surgeon come up under “Doer” was definitely the most exciting part of this survey. It’s good to see that my interests match up with my personality type! I also have been interested in dentistry so it was good to see that. My other main medical career of interest was to be an ER doc, and I’m sure that would fit in here too.
I was tied for my scores on “Artist” and “Enterprisers” as well.

Right now I want to go to school to become an engineer and then a surgeon of some sort, maybe an orthepedic surgeon, and both of these careers fit in the doer category. I also really like concrete problems and working with my hands.

As a doer, the two careers that interest me most are Athletic Trainer and Engineer. The Trainer interests me because I enjoy being involved with sports and think fitness is very important. Engineering interests me because I enjoy working out math problems and am pretty good at it. I am most interested in doing work that doesn't consist mostly of sitting behind a desk. Both these jobs will involve some of that but they will also involve the hands on type of activity.
Becoming an Athletic Trainer does not match with what I have said in previous blog posts. Becoming a trainer I would have to learn about the body's anotomy which is a huge part of medicine. Previously I have said I don't think I want to enter the career field of medicine. After learning about the many different fields, I think there are some that interest me.

I actually tied in being a doer and an artist, which makes sense because some of the careers overlap. However, the reason I chose to do this blog post is because I truly like art as only a hobby, and would not enjoy working with "words, pictures, music and dance". I prefer concrete over abstract. Careers like athletic trainer, chiropractor, dietitian, medical assistant, nurse/nursing assistant and physical therapist interest me. This matches well with all the things I have said in the previous blog posts.

As a doer I love to do things hands on. I find it much more interesting than working in a lab doing research all day. This matches very closely with other posts I have made. The careers that interest me the most all fall under this category which are Athletic trainer, Chiropractor and Physical therapist.

Of the careers listed in the Doers category the one that interested me the most was athletic trainer. One because I highly enjoy sports and would enjoy it very much if I could be surrounded by it in a daily environment. It would be nice to either sign with a pro team in any of the five major sports or even a college team. High school wouldn’t be bad but it is not my first choice and I wouldn’t mind if it was on the side but not as my main job. Athletic trainer interested me most because it’s very hands on job and not so much of sitting at a desk all day. In my previous blogs I listed as the career that was most interesting to me was Physical Therapist and I think it changed slightly because it would be more fun to work with actual team then just individual clients. But Physical Therapist is still my number two choice as of now.

As a doer the careers that interests me most would either be a physician or an athletic trainer. With both of these jobs I can interact with people and always do and learn something new because medicine is always changing. This does match my previous blog except for I do have a new found interest in sports medicine and helping people recover from injuries.

This is the category I feel I should have been designated to. I agree with Mary, this category is much more interesting than working in a lab all day. I've wanted to be a surgeon for a LONG time, the fact that I don't like to build furniture doesn't change that.

Categorized as a doer, and given the jobs listed, I would choose being the athletic trainer. Being an athletic trainer would enable me to get to work with numerous athletes and help them out. I would like to do this even though it does not match my previous blogs as I said I would like to become a radiologist as it fascinates me most.

Grant stated that he would want to be a biomedical engineer because they are among those in the front lines of medical technology. This sparks my interest for me and makes me want to go study and learn more about this career.

Anonymous said...

@Connor St. Those are good reasons! Are there any particular areas of physical therapy you want to go in, or is it a general interest now?

I agree with Mary on enjoying hands on work. I would much rather work with tangible things rather than imaginary and theoretical concepts.

Emily Krebs I think it awesome that you want to be a dentist to. I have always been interested in that field but never sure of it and I would have to say it would be my second or third choice for careers in the future. And a lot of people say they hate the dentist but I really like going and having my teeth cleaned.

Anonymous said...

Emily, I have also thought about being an ER doctor but I feel like that would be such a stressful job, do you think the stress would be worth it?

Anonymous said...

Matt I completely agree! A lot of people hate going to the dentist, but I guess that’s no different than the doctor…
Another interest of mine which came up under “Artist” was Orthodontia- any interest in that?

seems like most people want to be a biomed engineer or surgeon. What kind of surgeon?

I had a three way tie for my personality type but I felt that my best fit was in this category. Out of the careers listed a surgeon interested me the most. It is funny because I actually want a career like a surgeon. I enjoy doing hands on activities and fixing problems. Looking at my previous blogs they all match with the personality type.

I agree with Emily that it was exciting to see that my interests match up with my personality type! An athletic trainer, Physical Therapist and Chiropractor all interest me because they are very hands on. I find all of these careers very interesting because they all revolve around sports. I hope that one day I can help others become both more physically and mentally tougher to overcome their injuries.

Anonymous said...

@AllisonM I agree with you in the sense that medicine is always changing, and that would be a positive attribute for a doer because of the variety.

To answer what specific surgeon I would like to be is an Orthopedic surgeon.

Where there any careers on the survey that weren't listed that you think should have been put under doers?

SarahD24 said...

As a doer, I the career that interests me the most is nursing because it is actually the career that I am going into. I also tied with helper and I think that a nurse can also be a helper because you are dealing with different types of people everyday. But I am really interested in hands on activities because I could not sit in a office and not be active. I want to be an ER nurse and that is dealing with problems all day long and I like to fix any problem that I come across. And I have talked about becoming a nurse in other blog posts as well so it ties in very nicely.
