As a detailer, I am observant, fact-based, and thrive on routines. This type of personality matches several different careers. As I have said before, I would maybe like a career in the medical profession, but perhaps be in the outside, doing something on the business side of the field. These careers mostly matched this thinking. Several types of careers include a medical records manager, a pharmacist, a medical examiner, or other professions dealing with the medical field without being "hands on" with patients.

Well, I am either a detailer or an enterpriser. I would want to be an accountant, mainly because that's what I am going into anyway, so I might as well use it in the medicine field.

Out of the careers listed for a Detailer, the two that interest me most are an Accountant and a Pharmacist. An accountant interests me the most out of all these options. This is because I would like to take care of people's money and math is an interest of mine. I think that keeping track of people's money is very important in today's world because some people do not know how to manage their own. If I entered into a field in Medicine, I would have an interest in becoming a Pharmacist. I think that this would be a cool job because you would always get to keep up with technology through the new medicines.
These career choices do match with what I have said in previous blog posts. I do not see myself entering a field of medicine due to the years of schooling and preparation to enter the field. I am more interested in Finance and things that include math because of my interest of money.

Plus, all I would be working with would be the money and the financial records, and not actually the patients. Not that working with the sick people would be troubling to me, but I wouldn't want to have all that pressure. Unless we get audited, then I would be stressed out but it would be from my own mistakes, not by some kid swallowing quarters for fun.

I feel like the survey was mostly accurate as my top two choices had a lot of overlapping careers. Even though I have no intent of perusing a career in medicine, I feel like the career choices that were listed were something I would be willing to do and be most interested in. I feel there are some characteristics that I fail to meet like one or two of the personality descriptions. But I also feel like I match most of the other characteristics, and the description matches who I try to be daily. I would most likely be interested in the biomedical engineering, or a biochemist because those are two careers that I would like to peruse due to the prerequisites for them.

The two careers that interest me most within the category of "detailer" are biochemist and medical researcher. I would like to be a biochemist because it is very interesting how cells function and how much is involved in this field. I would also like to be a medical researcher because there is always something new and exciting to research in the medical field.

I am a detailer, and the only career that I found exetremely similar to what I'm truly interested in for myself is an accountant. I love working with numbers which is probably why I am a detailer. I like the fact-driven, step-by-step processes you find in math study. I feel like more of the careers listed under the "investigator" are a better fit for me because I would love to be a radiologist and be able to solve the problems that can easlily be over looked.

After completing the personality type blog, I was placed as a helper. As a helper I can work well and be kind to others, and am interested in teaching people new things. The top three career choices that fit my personality type are an athletic trainer, medical assistant and home and health aid. In the future I would like to help people, but also teach them how to help themselves. As a medical assistant I would get the opportunity to talk and connect to the patients and also help with their medical process. People of a variety of ages are listed under home and health aid, and in this position I would be able to work with many people and teach them how to work through their struggles.

Jordan,
I agree with you. Although I would enjoy working inside a hospital or a medical setting, I would rather be "behind the scenes" in a business way, rather than directly helping patients with their medical needs. I think I would enjoy a career in hospital management, or anything on the professional side of running a company, like a hospital.

I not sure I could be an accountant, I like math, but I feel like I have too strong of a personality that would leave something at good enough, not at best which is where it needs to be, and I also feel like I would get bored, sitting in a cubical punching numbers into a computer every day.

Anne and Jordan,
I couldn't agree with you more. The medicine part of the hospital might not have the most interest to me, but running something behind the scenes such as the accounting would be an interest of mine. This would be a very important job to the hospital but you would not have to work directly with patients. I don't want to be working directly with all of the medical problems we have in our society today, but I would love to run the accounting side of a hospital.

Anne,
I agree with your comment that it would be fun working in the back scenes of the hospital, and I feel like a career in administration would be very helpful; I feel like I would have to have a more active career like researching to keep my mind busy and active during my career.

@Aaron F. I agree with you in the sense that there is a lot of "desk work" in this field, but perhaps there is another interest you have that can combine other interests you have involving detail with more interactive, outside-the-office work.

I think that I would actually like to work with people rather than just staying behind the scenes. I would never really want to be any kind of surgeon, but I would love to actually work with real people, like working as a physical therapist, a psycologist, or a neurologist. Working directly with the patient to let them know how they need to better their health, but not actually performing any kind of surgery.

At Adam,

Would you enjoy working in a career like a medical researcher that would allow you to work behind the scenes, but still allow work in the medical side of the field?

Aaron,
Maybe a career in the medical field that involves traveling would interest you? This way you could see many parts of the country/world and never become bored by sitting at a desk all day? I would probably be interested in this because you could meet new people and still do what you went to school and trained for. Just a thought...

I just deleted everything I typed. Whoops. Anywho, detailer was one of my top 3 results (they all tied). I think it may be because I've been swaying out more from the career I've told people I want to enter. I always tell people 'I'm going to become a pediatric nurse' and now they kind of expect it from me. However, I have been swaying more towards the business side of things. Of the careers lister under 'detailer' the two that most interest me are accountant (simple math, for the most part) and medical examiner (well... they're already dead. So you can't screw up and be responsible for someone's life. I don't know if I could hold that kind of responsibility on my shoulders). I was also put into the 'doer' and the 'helper' catagories. I noticed that biomedical engineer was under all three. I Googled it and it sounded interesting, even though I've always told my self to stay away from the engineering field.

Aaron, maybe you could do Dr's with out boarders! Then you could travel and be a Dr!

Ok, I was commenting in the wrong blog account. But basically, every business needs an accountant. Adam has a really groovy point that it is definitely a behind the scenes type of job.

I was listed as a detailer as well as a helper. I believe these two overlap in a way that you can truly help unless you know the details. While reading some of the previous comments I do agree with the fact that it is a behind the scenes type of job, but it doesn't have to be. I am a very detail oriented person and I am hands on and like to work with people so I think it can go both ways. Out of the jobs listed I think being a pharmacist would most interest me but as I said in the helper blog I would really like to be a nurse working with kids. I believe these two catagories suit me well.

Leah,
Basically my results say the same as you do, and becoming a pediatric nurse has been my goal, so that's what I'm aiming for even if this survey may tell me a little different.
